I have won several items from Wavee including a Sony Digital Camera, 2 GPS units, and a $100 giftcard. Shipping was pretty fast and items came from Amazon (with the exception of the giftcard).
I have won several items on wavee, and have always received them in less than a week. It is an awesome site, and I love it! Keep up the good work wavee!!!!!
be careful if you’re running low on bid credits on wavee… their counter doesn’t reliably reflect your last bid. 2 times I thought I had one bid left, based on the wavee counter, only to lose the auction as I clicked ‘bid now’ – only then did their system let me know i didn’t have any bids left. had i known, i could have quickly purchased another bid package. but thanks to their glitch i saw two auctions end – and my bids wasted. i’ve rec’d no reply from their ‘customer service’ team, either.
I recently joined Wavee based on the comments/reviews from this site. However, I am starting off with “not so good luck” from this site. As a new user they give 5 credit, but you have to put in your phone # to receive a text message to get the credit. I did this 10 times and never got a text from this, but I receive text from other people, so nothing is wrong with my service. After a couple emails AND sending them a feedback comment, they finally gave me the 5 credits. However, they also advertise giving credits for becomming their facebook fan. I have yet to receive credits for this. I have emailed a couple times AND send feedback comments. They ignore them and have not posted my credits for this. They know I am a fan because they thanked me but will not answer about my credits. Can we say FALSE ADVERTISING????
Hey Zinjurious,
Wavee’s usually pretty good when it comes to customer service, but their traffic has increased significantly in recent days. Its possible that they are backlogged and haven’t gotten a chance to add your credits yet.
Hope everything works out for you. Post an update if you receive or do not receive those credits.

I’ve been lurking on Wavee for a long time. I’ve gotten free signup bids, free facebook fan bids, and free bids for following them on Twitter. I recently won their YouTube contest. I’ve submitted several “tickets” to Wavee’s support, and they have all been answered promptly and professionally. I thoroughly recommend this site! If you’re just starting, make sure to hit the beginner auctions! They aren’t quite a guaranteed win, but they have pretty good odds these days!
wavee is amazing! go in ready to buy the item you want at retail price (often times below retail price on wavee) and have a chance of getting it for 80-90% off!!! ipads go for $20 sometimes, same with ps3s and xboxs and even cameras!! it amazing!
Wavee is awesome. The beginner bids are great way to get started. Also you have a better chance to win here than other places because they limit wins. Use my user name: dadzio as a referral.
Be careful when signing up, they hid the fact that you are going to be billed and if you hit the button you are immediately charged with out the option to accept the amount you are going to be billed for. The amount is not refundable so if you find the site not to your liking too bad. Customer service sounded more like a used car salesman than CS. Accepting I had been ripped off, I looked at the bids and saw the same name on several bids. Could it be internal to encourage more bidding? I just have a very bad feeling about this site.
Wavee.com is a scam. I detailed my experience and it is currently featured at customerreviews.org. It is horrible and should be avoided.
I believe that most of the positive reviews and some of the bidding are done by wavee employees. The discounts are huge because you pay hefty prices for bids. When those auctions are won by them they make money on bids and don’t have any costs for product. If you spend time on the site, you’ll pay $179 the second you enter a credit card and you’ll quickly see that only a few win all the auctions. enter at your own peril…i mean risk.
Wavee.com is built on a solid foundation of deception. From the phony “Memphis Gazette” to the misleading sign in…no confirmation page before checkout. They RELY on deception for their success. I wish they used their talents to positively serve others. How about some confidence in yourselves Wavee people?
Hey Stan,
Could you provide us with more info on the “Memphis Gazette” advertising? We have been unable to locate this and we want to make sure that any site featured here is using honest marketing techniques.
Thanks for your feedback.
Hey penny auction expert,
I too fell for the “memphis gazette” scam, very dumb of me in hindsight. It seems rather hard to win on this site, how many people have confirmed wins? This is the link to the article. http://www.memphisgazette.org/indexwavetv2.html?t202id=688204&t202kw=154619
Hi Jim,
Thanks for your comment. From a personal opinion standpoint, Wavee used to be one of the best penny auction sites out there. You can see from the early comments on this post that there were many loyal fans.
In recent months, we’ve received more complaints about Wavee – slow shipping, etc. We’ll send an email to them this week and try to get some clear explanations.
Thanks for providing the Memphis Gazette link. We’re not a big fan of deceptive advertising, so we’ll inquire with Wavee about that as well.
In the meantime, let us know if you have any additional questions.
Josh from the Penny Auction List
I signed up at my own free will although their sign up is deceptive. Their demo and ad made it sound as though bid to buy was always available and not just up to a certain amount or certain items. But I bid away and did my best to get my moneys worth. I won 5 auctions and used buy it now on 10. I am up over $100 above what I spent which is $600.00. Problem is I haven’t received a single item and they won’t answer my emails and it’s been 2 weeks. I’ve already received my credit card bill. Seems they are quick to take your money but slow to give you your items. I’m ready to file with my card company’s to charge them back. If they would just email me back and let me know when they would arrive I would feel better. So you can win there but good luck getting your items.
A would definately not recemmend the site. They immediately debited my credit card for $179.00 without my knowledge or consent. I am in the process of disputing these charges and reporting them to the proper authorities.
@JOHN lerch,
Thanks for your comments. Slow shipping seems to be a common complaint with Wavee lately. We’re sending them an email tonight to try and get more information about the delays.
We will post an update here if we receive one.
Don’t think I will ever buy any more credits at Wavee since I lost quite a bit of money, NEVER won any of the auctions, and customer service is very shady! Wonder if website is legit… Anyways, I decided to buy an item after I’d bidded on for hours-on-end on 10/10 and was charged immediately on my debit card. On the site FAQ it states “Your purchase should arrive in your MAILBOX within 3-7 business days of the purchase date.” so I figured 3-7 days with free shipping-GREAT. Well, it’s been 8 days and the item is still NOT in my mailbox nor I have any idea when I will receive it. I contacted Wavee customer service live chat to ask about the status of my order and I felt as if I was asking an absurd question… I was told it should take 2 weeks for my order to arrive, so I mentioned the FAQ statement and the answer was ” 2 weeks”… Nice…way to go Wavee!! Never ever again I will bother with your site if I don’t receive my item by the 2 week mark I will dispute the charge!!
YES, “concerned”… I was also scammed for the 179.00. You put your credit card info in to register, hit submit, and somehow, you spent this amount of money on bidding credits without even knowing. I called and all they would do was refund 50% as a “courtesy”. Very deceptive. The page where you enter cc info automatically scrolls past the choice of packages, and one is checked for you! There is no confirmation to alert you to the fact that you are making a purchase. WAVEE IS COMMITTING CRIME. DO NOT USE IT.
Here is the link to the Memphis Gazette, which appears false. Over to the right, in red, it tells you the Wavee2010 offer is good until the day after you are clicking on the link. The date will change everyday, adding one day to the day you are reading the advertisement. There is no warning before your credit card is charged $179 and it is nearly impossible to win any of the auctions, which leads me to believe the “winners” are inside Wavee people. Buyer beware.

Hey Everyone,
We sent Wavee an email with your concerns. Here is their response dated 10/20:
—-
Thank you for your inquiry. I would love the opportunity to address all of your questions/concerns.
(i.) Unreasonably slow shipping
We most certainly apologize to anyone who has has previously had a shipping delay and appreciate their patience. I am happy to let you know that by the end of the week, Wavee will not have any outstanding items to any of its customers. In fact, I highly doubt that can be said among any of our peers. We are a healthy, growing company with improved shipping and handling.
(ii.) Unanswered e-mails
As Wavee has seen tremendous growth, it has been difficult to keep up with an increased volume of e-mail inquiries. We have recently added to the size of our support team and customer service has and will continue to be our number one priority.
(iii.) Unanticipated Charges
As is the case with almost all penny auction sites, credit purchases are non-refundable. We have been running a promotional offer for new users that offers FREE credits with a credit purchase. A very small percentage of customers have misunderstood this promotional offer and have misrepresented this as “unanticipated charges”.
Please let us know if there are any further questions/concerns we can help address. As I previously mentioned, Wavee is a healthy, growing company and customer service is our number one priority.

Though we do not advocate their “Memphis Gazette” advertising (thanks Patti for providing the link) or any advertorials of that kind – it does seem that Wavee still desires to keep consumers happy.
Please continue to send your questions or concerns to them, and feel free to post any updates here.
Thanks.

I will NEVER endorse this site. wavee.com is a COMPLETE SCAM! Nowhere, let me repeat, NOWHERE does it sat that you card will be billed. There is a pending charge of $179 on my account and I too am in the middle of disputing it. I was informed that the charge wasn’t even on their system. How can it show up on my account activity and not in their system. No warning OR confirmation is stated anywhere during the registration process. This site is a SCAM
http://www.channel9newstoday.com/
That is the fake news website that is offering this “amazing” deal. Every tab you click on takes you to xbids.com. They used to have wavee.com, but since the morning when I opened the email, they have switched sites from wavee to xbids
If you take the time to look at both sites

The male in the banner is the exact same person, but with two different names. I am sorry that I keep commenting, but I am truly disgusted that a website, and now TWO are taking advantage people before the Christmas rush in this economy. I don’t know about anyone else out there, but $179 is alot of money to me and my family. I am a teacher trying to scrape by with my wife and three daughters. Thank you for letting me vent and I sincerely hope that no one else is duped into this.
These advertorials & charges are VERY unsettling and misleading, in my opinion. If you’ve experienced charges and problems with Wavee.com and any other penny auction site, please let me know. Thank you, Amanda PennyAuctionWatch.com & feel free to join the forum. Thanks!
On 10/27/10 my husband signed up with Wavee after hearing about how great it was on CNN. He was charged $179.00 without being warned and immediately went to their online chat to dispute the charges. The operator sent him to the webpage that she said he signed up from. It had a big banner at the top of the page about the $179. This was not the same page where he had signed up for the ‘free’ account. He was told by the online operator that she would refund his credit card within 1-3 business days. It was not done so I contacted online chat again and was told that I needed a confirmation# to prove we had requested a refund. Of course no confirmation# had ever been offered previously. Now, finally, I have a confirmation# related to the refund and I’m told that it will be 3-5 business days before the credit will show up on my credit card. I will continue to pursue this and dispute the charges with VISA if necessary. This household will not be dealing with Wavee.com ever again.
Not only are their advertisements fake their bidders are fake. I came upon Wavee.com as I was surfing the internet. At first when I saw the prices they seemed too good to be true. And you know how the saying goes, if it’s too good to be true it often is. I’ve been watching the site for 2 days now. Tonight I’ve been watching 4 auctions simultaneously, Cannon Eos 50D, HP Pavilion Desktop computer, Samsung LED TV, and a Macbook Pro. What I found unbelievable and close to impossible was that the bidding history was identical and all bids were put in at the same time, all auctions were at the same price. I watched the auctions for hours and of the 30 names or so I saw “bidding” on all 4 items they all happened at the same time. Basically if one could check the timestamp history of bids on all 4 auctions they would be identical. What do I think of that? A program is doing the bidding. There’s absolutely no way all 4 items could have identical histories. I didn’t see one bid that was different. Even if all those people bidding wanted the same items, wouldn’t there be at least one person who wanted one of the items and not the other??? I’ve screen shotted the auctions as they happened at different intervals.
this is in their terms and conditions that you “had to read” (check box) to sign up
6. Charges and Payments: You must purchase or otherwise obtain “Credits” in order to place bids for products in any of our Wavee Auctions. Upon clicking the “Start Bidding” button below the Payment Information section on our promotional page, you will immediately be charged $179 for 300 Credits. Additional credits may be awarded depending on the promotional code entered, if any. Credits are non-refundable. Our charges for Credits, or the number of Credits required to place a bid, may change from time to time. Such changes will be posted on our Website. The right to use any Credit expires, if not used within 180 days of the date purchased or otherwise obtained from us. Wavee reserves the right to expire Credits acquired with a discount of more than five percent off of the regular posted price at any time after 90 days from the date purchased or otherwise obtained from us.

so those who were “scammed” maybe yall should have read this b4 signing up, I did, and that’s what made me NOT sign up
Mr. penny auction expert!! You did not address the $179.00 that people are complaining about on here.
This company is a scam. They took me through a 2 step registration process and the 2nd step asked for CC info. I assumed it was for paying for items that were won, but I was immediately charged $179 and the REFUESE to refund it. Stay away from this fraudulent company!
Wavee is the slickest scam I’ve ever encountered. While signing up for the free credits, I somehow “missed” the “warning” that I was signing to to spend $179.00 up front. Within seconds of tapping the SUBMIT button, I received an email thanking me for $179.00. I was shocked! Customer-No-Service calmly informed me that there is a no refund policy.
Stay away from Wavee! I question whether the bidders are real or the company itself.
Are all items from wavee brand new?
This is the owner of the MemphisGazette scam website:
Marat Nigmatzyanov – nigmatzyanov14@gmail.com
[@Zheng - Though we think the Memphis Gazette news site was a bad choice of marketing, and misleading at the very least, we will not post this individual's address or phone number. We have left the email in place for those who wish to contact him/her.]
wavee is a scam. First they charged my credit card without my permission. So I watched the auction for hours. The same person bid so many times that they paid more for the item than if they had bought it. Some sites say they have bidders and it would appear to be the only explanation. Do not even give your credit info. O nce they] charge it is impossible to get the money back.
I agree. it’s a scam. I feel like a total fool today. tried it out and somehow wound up getting a $75 dollar charge on my account. they said i purchased 110 credits. still not sure how that happened. that was money for my kids christmas. i was looking to maybe get a deal on something, but wound up screwed!
Kim, you’r not the only one who fell for this. I had a similar experience last night. I emailed them saying
“I didn’t mean to buy any credits right of the bat when I was logging into my account. Your site says register for free and get 5 free credits. I’m totally lost when I see this invoice. I’m sorry, please cancel my account and credit my card for the amount charged.”
FYI
I just got a reply from Wavee support team;
Hello,
Thank you for contacting Wavee Support. We apologize for the inconvenience. There was clearly some confusion with this discounted purchase of 120 credits (www.wavee.com/access/promo120). We do not want to see our customers unhappy. Your 100% refund has been submitted for processing. Please let us know if you have any further questions.
Thanks,
Wavee Support
Anything is a scam if there are chances that you may never win ! I am hypothetically assuming that Wavee is a genuine website without any in house or dummy bidders from the company side for my analysis below. There following points (from the Terms and Conditions page) about this site suggest that the chances you win are meagre:
1.) Credits expire in 6 months of purchase. By that time if you dont figure out how to win or if there are too many people bidding then your money is gone even if you want to use it for a later time.
2.) Soon the situation will be that the site is so popular that you have very less chance on any auction and hence you dont bid and Wavee makes all the money (6 month time limit).
3.) Wavee can limit number of auctions you can take part, hence youre chances of winning are limited
4.) Wavee can limit the number of auctions you have won. Means if you win 20 auctions. Wavee can say hey you have won enough, stop!
5.) There are no instant auctions for big items. Auctions for big items are scheduled. You cant setup a auction at 2:30 am and have only yourself on a 500$ item auction.
6.) They may replace the item which was in the auction with a equivalent product, if they dont have the original item with them. If you put a Panasonic HDC-HS60 on auction and give a JVC as a replacement, why will I bid again?
7.) If you win a auction but dont pay up for the product, your account may be terminated or you may face legal action (this may apply to even Wavee Bid Bundles for new members)
8.) I cannot check Auctions ended before 7 days prior to today. If I dont find my product in those 7 day auctions then how will I build my strategy for the next auction of that product.
9.) There is no limit on how much you can bet for a auction. Today I saw a member who spent $668.25 on bids and has to pay an extra bid amount of $135.61 ($803.86 in total) for the item priced at $299.99! .See the details below. If there can maniacs like this who will go to any extent to win (maybe thinking they will win big in another auction or are downright dumb) then can me or you win ?
XBox 360 4GB Kinect Bundle
Retail Value: $299.99
Final Bid: $135.61
Cost of Bids: $668.25
Total Cost: $803.86
10.) Last but the easiest point is that they dont have mazon.com or Macys gift cards. After all the members on the site are shoppers. Wavee has only a lousy $25 Starbucks gift card and a Wavee gift card. If Wavee doesnt have any products in its inventory as the order statusses on many winners suggest then we are buying fake stuff with real money!
On the other hand, I never put my CC details on the website still got the 5 free credits. Once you sign up with out giving your CC information anywhere, login and click on your user name at the top of the site. You will be taken to a web page to edit your profile. A link there will ask you your telephone numner and a verification code will be sent to your phone using which you can claim 5 free credits !
I agree with the point that this is nothing but gambling. If you want to play think a lot, watch for few days then take the stage.
This is a scam I merely browsed the site and ended up with a $75 dollar charge to my card. I never bid or clicked on anything. WAVEE please explain your charge. It says free registration that is all I did I want my card refunded.
o.k.! I saw the posting where Wavee addressed the slow shipping time. Well, I won 2 auctions on November 8th and my credit card was charged immediately. The items are still “processing”! The customer support site is terrible, they either don’t respond to emails or it is a generic answer. I finally spoke to someone in customer service after holding for more than 30 minutes and she informed me that my items would ship in about 10 “business” days. Well…it’s been 17 “business” days today and still processing. I am at my wits end! These are supposed to be Christmas gifts. And now I tried calling again, the automated system tells me to try my call again during “business” hours (which it was).
@Cindy,
Sorry to hear about your negative experiences.
Please keep us updated.
@Everyone Else,
Can you send us the URL to the page where you’re getting charged a registration fee?
Thanks.
Penny Auction List
i also entered my cc info thinking it was for items won in an auction and ended up being charged $75. I emailed them immediately and got a response stating there were no refunds. There was a box that had to be checked with terms/conditions that I obviously didn’t read well enough. What I find disturbing is that there was no actual page with an amount or a page where you confirm anything. Very misleading and now I’m down $75 before Christmas. Will let all my friends know about this site.
I see a ton of recent negative comments about Wavee.com. Has anyone commenting here had a good experience on any other penny auction site?
The Memphis Gazette website is very attractive and looks like a legitimate news site. It’s clear from their unusable navigation bar and other portions of the website that this site has been set up for a single purpose; to promote Wavee.com.
If you read the footer, you can clearly see from their disclaimer that the Memphis Gazette website is nothing more than an affiliate site for whatever they are promoting.
All articles and comments there should be considered to be nothing more than advertisements.
When I tried to look up the ownership of the Memphis Gazette. Whois reveals that the ownership is private. Not surprising since it there’s no way to verify the information they provide as being true or accurate.
I see my two comments submitted earlier either are waiting admin approval or were deleted.
Could it be because they weren’t complimentary about the Memphis Gazette, a shill for Wavee or did I violate some rule here?
I’ve never used Wavee, so didn’t comment about them.
Just asking.
I signed up for wavee, got the 5 free credits and was not charged $179. I have since bid on and won bundle pack credits which i used to win a TV and iHome stereo. So far so good. I’m only out about $10. But these items were won about 2 weeks ago and I have not received them. They still say processing. I was going to purchase bids since I am actually winning items in hopes of getting some Christmas gifts, but I’m afraid to until I get the others already won.
@Raymond,
Thanks for your comments. We have an admin manually approve all first-time commenters. We put these measures in place because some users post fake reviews for their own fradulent websites or use obscene/vulgar language to make their points. We never filter out well-founded concerns about sites that we include in our directory. This is a community for bidders first, auction websites second.
Now that you have some approved comments, your future comments will go through without admin approval.
Thanks for contributing.
The Penny Auction List
I hope the $ 75.00 dollars you just stole from me today buy some nice Xmas present for a innocent little kid, shame on you people that take advantage of others with your scams
A crooked site that rips off bidders through technical shenanigans. Twice today I “won” auctions only to have another bidder shown as winner. I had plenty of credits and bid before time expired, yet another name shows up as winner. Strangely (sure) the name showing up as the winner of the last auction was one I recognized as having won the same item in an earlier auction. He showed up late, made a few bids and won out over myself, who had been playing the game for quite some time. After my first complaint Wavee suggested I change my browser from Internet Explorer 8 to Chrome. These folks will happily take all the money you don’t need. Just don’t expect to win anything.
Not sure what to think of this site. I did not experience the 179 dollar charge everyone is talking about. I did the beginner auctions won a few bid packages and a gift card. A few days later I was watching a Nikon D5000 which retails for around 800.00 submitted 2 bids and won, paid a 85.00 for the winning bid. A few days later bid on a external hard drive again. Won very easily think 1 to 2 bids. The next day again won a 25.00 camera bag for .72 cents. All the items were paid for immediately. Only problem is now I am several hundrend dollars into this site and I have not recieved one product that I have won. It has been over 3 weeks. I am frustrated and mad. I receive only generic responses to emails like your product will be shipped in two weeks, this ticket has been resolved. Has anyone actually recieved anything from these people????
